POSITION SUMMARY: To promote and facilitate the development, implementation and monitoring of educational programs for English Learners (ELs), as well as the district-wide administration of WIDA ACCESS, as required by Colorado Department of Education (CDE) and US Department of Education (ESSA/TITLE III).

Supports school administrators and teachers in implementing best practices in supporting ELs.
Leads the ELD program team, including facilitating monthly team meetings and staff development opportunities.
Coordinates the testing of WIDA ACCESS, WIDA Screener, and WIDA MODEL for all D49 ELs.
Acts as a Liaison between Central Office and all other stakeholders for all ELD and Migrant Education assistance.
Serves as a resource of information regarding ELD and EL programs/services.
Supports with ELD staffing and budgeting of the ELD program.
Works with ELD Technician to maintain ELD Educational records/files ? to meet compliance with CDE/TITLE III/OCR.
Ensures that all federal and state reporting requirements are met, including writing Title III reports and grants.
Ensures that all ELs have appropriate placement and each EL has an English Language Plans (ELP) with accommodations.
Collaborates with Special Populations departments to ensure equitable programming and continued academic progress for ELs with specialized learning needs.
Identifies program needs (e.g. instructional materials and equipment, etc.) for the purpose of providing input to school administration that will enhance the ELD program.
Performs data analysis of ELD/EL data to determine needs of the ELD Program.
Responds to teacher, school, parent, and community needs including informal requests regarding policies, procedures, and programming for EL students.
Assists in ordering of ELD supplemental materials.
Coordinates and facilitates quarterly meetings with ELD Parent Engagement Group.
Supports and mentors new ELD teachers in the district.
Performs other duties as assigned.
Supervision & Technical Responsibilities:
Requires the supervision and evaluation of ELD Coach/Facilitator & D49 ELD Technician.
Budget Responsibility:
Requires the drafting, finalizing and day-to-day oversight of D49's TITLE III and ELPA accounts.
The requirements listed below are representative of the education, experience, knowledge, skills, and/or abilities required for this position:
Education & Training:
Master's Degree in ESL ? LDE (Linguistically Diverse Education)
Knowledge and experience with teaching learners with Limited English skills
Possess Cultural Awareness, sensitivity and a thorough knowledge of the cultures reflected in D49
3-5 years of EL classroom experience
1-3 years of administrative experience preferred

Certificates, Licenses, & Registrations:
Valid CDE License Culturally and Linguistically Diverse (CLD) Education K-12
Valid CDE Principal License preferred
Criminal background check required for hire
Valid Colorado driver's license required for hire

Don't Be Fooled

The fraudster will send a check to the victim who has accepted a job. The check can be for multiple reasons such as signing bonus, supplies, etc. The victim will be instructed to deposit the check and use the money for any of these reasons and then instructed to send the remaining funds to the fraudster. The check will bounce and the victim is left responsible.
